Heidi Albertsen: Supermodel, Actress, Entrepreneur, Charity Ambassador, Humanitarian, Environmental Advocate; Winner, Elite Model Look World Final

As a friend, I know all these descriptions to be true, but still miss the essence of Heidi as a person. Weaving in and around a dauntingly hectic schedule filled with airports, photo shoots and press conferences, Heidi consistently considers helping others to be of paramount importance. This Super Model becomes a Super Angel as she reserves time to devote countless hours of charitable foundation work to honorable organizations such as the Lower Eastside Service Center, Life Project for Action, and the Eric Trump Foundation benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. After having won the Elite Model Look Word Final, Heidi traveled alone to New York from Copenhagen, Denmark when she was merely 17 years old. Heidi was determined and tenacious.

Winning the Elite Model Look World Final virtually catapulted her career to A-List status alongside models such as Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Linda Evangelista, and Tyra Banks. Heidi's angelic face became a heartwarming site as it graced billboards, magazine covers, commercials and runways. Heidi Albertsen has created a veritable kaleidoscope of experiences as a top model for magazines such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Sports Illustrated, Fitness Magazine, Shape, Vanity Fair, Woman, Max, M Magazine, and many others. Iconic products have also embraced her beauty, some of which include American Express, Armani, Christian Dior, Clairol, Comme des Garcons, Donna Karen, Dove, Escada, Fruit of the Loom, Gucci, Guess, La Perla, L'Oreal, Neutrogena, Nicole Miller, Roberto Cavalli, Vera Wang, Victoria's Secret, and Yves St. Laurent. Television has also welcomed her with appearances on Fox News, MTV, E-Channel, Oxygen, Good Morning America and others. Photographers Albert Watson, Antoine Verglas, Patrick Demarchelier, and Pamela Hanson all lent their genius to her trade and created timeless portraits for her and her clients.

Miss Universe also benefited from her professionalism, as Heidi was appointed Judge for the Donald Trump Miss Universe Pageant in Thailand. She also served as a Judge for Elite Model Look national competitions on several occasions in countries worldwide. Feature films also celebrated her talents, and she appeared in National Treasure with Nicolas Cage, Fur with Nicole Kidman, Zoolander with Ben Stiller, Celebrity directed by Woody Allen, and IMAX film Kilimanjaro: To the Roof of Africa. David Breashears directed this IMAX Film for National Geographic, and Heidi was one of seven climbers to scale Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak, and reach the summit of 19,340 feet, which she did not once but twice.

I believe it is obvious that Heidi's life has been a symphony of success, but as a friend, I must make a comment: "What strikes me most about Heidi is how woefully inadequate cameras are." Until Sony or Nikon is able to invent a camera that can also capture one's inner beauty, they will never be able to fully capture the quintessence of Heidi. The world may look at magazine covers and think of her as a Super Model, but if you understand that her biggest wish is to give back to others and help children and mothers in need, you might also recognize her as a Super-Person, or Earth-Angel.

When she is not modeling, acting, writing her biography, or attending art courses at university, Heidi spends time volunteering for different charitable organizations and is inspired by how they make such positive and tangible differences in people's lives. Charitable foundations have been showered with her attention. Heidi has been honored for her work as ambassador and spokesperson to New York's Lower Eastside Service Center, Su Casa, and Bridge2Life. She serves as chief ambassador and spokesperson for Life Project for Africa. She has served on the Eric Trump Foundation's Executive Committee, which is a major sponsor of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Time may erase many things, but it will never erase the essence of a person. I am honored to call Heidi friend, not because of what she does, but who she is -- inside.
